LET'S GO TO THE HOP

If you're hopping in via the blog Hop, welcome, come on in. The last 2 Blog Hops have been tons of fun. It's such a great way to meet new people and connect with some fantastic blogs that I may never have run or hopped into. So this weeks theme is: 3 things you didn't know about me. So without further ado:

1. I have a beauty mark in my eye. Yes, it's true. I have a small brown dot in the iris part of my left eye. Since my eyes happen to be light blue, I guess it's very noticeable. I get told all of the time, "you know, you have a dot in your eye." As if they are telling me something I do not know.

2. I saw a beached whale in Cape Cod Massachusetts. My husband and I stayed at an old bed and breakfast for a weekend getaway when we were first married. We rented bikes and went for a bike ride along the trails near the ocean. When we rode past it the first time, the whale was crashing in the waves...poor guy was hurt bad. By the time we returned from our bike ride, the whale was way up on the beach and a whole crew was out taking measurements and pictures. I was very upset for the rest of our weekend about this big guy...poor whale. I love the ocean and often wonder what sorts of other creatures live way beneath the water.

3. On my wedding day, the makeup artist got pink lipstick down the front of my dress. I had to be to the church within an hour. The makeup artist wanted to put white makeup on the dress to cover the lipstick! Ummmm NO. We called the Bridal shop where we bought the dress and they wanted us to come to their shop so they could sew applique over the stain. Ummmm No. My dad ran up the stairs with a bottle of Goo Gone (you know that yellow stuff...sort of smells like lemons) and said "the bottle says it removes lipstick." My mom washed my dress with the Goo Gone....and my aunt Doris stood with a blow dryer to dry is right away so it wouldn't leave a water mark. It was a miracle. It all came out and you would never have known there was lipstick on my dress. I was 45 minutes late for church and the priest at church joked with my husband that I wasn't going to show up. I guess he was relieved when I did and the rest of the day and night was magical.

So there you have it...3 things you didn't know about me and now you do. Thanks for stopping in, now I can't wait to read all about you!

Interesting stuff. When you mentioned the beauty mark that made me chuckle because I have a freckle on the tip of my nose and people are always telling me I have a pen mark on my nose!

Oh my! I got upset last night watching a nature program where they were talking about the problems with ppl cutting off the shark fins and then dumping the live sharks back in the ocean to die! I can't imagine seeing a huge beached whale! I'd have cried my eyes out!

I hope you didn't pay the makeup artist. White makeup over it? How long would that last? Nice to know the Goo Gone trick though!

You are a most interesting person!! I love your stories!!

I had no idea that Goo stuff worked. That was a brilliant answer to your problem and saved the day!

Wow, that is so interesting that you have a beauty mark in your eye! The poor whale!!
I would've never thought goo gone would work on that and not leave a residue from goo gone on your dress!
Did you pay that makeup artist??

That must have been amazing yet still heartbreaking to see the whale beached like that. I'm a big softy myself with stuff like that but I hate to admit I'd probably be standing there gawking for a couple of minutes then I would have seen if there was anything I could've done to help. Delayed reaction and all you know! :)

That's very unique about your eye and I'm sure you do get that pointed out quite a bit! lol I'm so sad for that whale. :( I hate seeing animals like that suffer. Wow! Goo Gone on your wedding dress! Oh the wonders of Goo Gone!

Thanks for following! How sad to see a beached whale, but at the same time it was probably pretty neat to see a whale in person.

Thanks for following my blog! Your daughter is adorable! I have thought about adoption but I'm not there yet...close ;0) but not there yet. Also thank you for your kind comments and prayers! I truly appreciate it!

I have a beauty mark on my inner left palm of my hand...people always tell me I have dirt on there! Guess they've never seen a beauty mark on the inside of someones hand before! :0)

I love your 3 things...poor whale though! That's always a sad thing to see.

OH MY GOODNESS! I would have died if lipstick would have gotten on my wedding dress. That didnt happen to me but I did wake up 2 days before our wedding with a HUGGGGEEEE pimple on my lip. It was so big that it had caused my lip to swell up 2 times its normal size. Luckily, my dermatologist is an angel and she fixed me right up! On my wedding day, it was still there but not so noticeable!

Please come by my place, too, so I can greet you!

What a great wedding story; I would have been in a panic if that happened to me. :)
