LOVE IN A BOX

On Saturday after our fingerprinting appointment, we returned home to a surprise package on our front steps. It was addressed to Halainah. Inside the box were tons of goodies for Halainah compliments of her Jiu Jiu (my brother and Halainah's uncle) and Jiu Mu (Crystal, my brother's girlfriend). There was a note inside and it started, "Ni hao my little monkey. Here is some love in a box for you." Halainah was very excited to rip open the box to see what was inside. The first thing Halainah opened and the most sentimental was a quilt handmade by Jiu Mu Crystal. It is absolutely breathtaking. She put so much time (1 year to be exact) and so much thought and love into this quilt. It truly is a masterpiece. This is Crystal's version of the 100 good wishes quilt or "Bai Jai Bei". Each square is stitched in a different pattern and holds wishes of comfort, warmth and love. Honestly Halainah's quilt is so beautiful you really must see it in person. Halainah is a very lucky little girl. She also received a bear and books which are her 2 most favorite things and a new clock. And some natural baby shampoo and wash since her skin is so delicate. Halainah's quilt is such a heart warming and sentimental gift that she will treasure forever. Thank you Crystal for putting so much love into Halainah's quilt and for making her feel so special. Halainah sends you tons of hugs and kisses.

Halainah's quilt is so beautiful I can't stop staring at it!

Awww, she is sooo cute!!! I want to eventually adopt a child also. From where is still a toss up. I want to adopt from China, being chinese myself but hubby is from the Bahamas so that's still up for debate.

Love in a box--how awesome. My boys still wrap themselves up in blankets--love in a blanket. My two youngest ones wanted me to knit them a blanket. I did, praying over them as I knitted, and wrapped them in love. What a beautiful post!
