(((HUGS))) I don't recall if this is your first/only. That would be soo hard!
It takes time. Some folks say the little ones who had a tight bond with their Ayi or foster mom reject the new mom the hardest at first. This was definitely true for our youngest. After we returned home she would accept me as long as DH was not around, but as soon as he was, I was completely on the OUTS! It was a hard few months like this, but sometime along the way, she quit jumpiong on DH so fervently when he would get home and then made a complete turnaround and only wanted me. Now, about 18 months later we are starting to enter a phase where she will accept either of us without too much of a fuss but prefers her momma.
Dee: I know it is hard, but give it some time. Ava's whole world has been turned upside down. She needs some time to trust the new world that you are creating for her. Bobby
Take a deep breath. You want her to want you so bad i am sure it hurts. Take a deep breath and try to look at the situation a little different. If you want to give her a hug..give Tony a hug...give the bunny a hug. She needs to understand in her terms that you too are a package deal and you are both equally loving and supportive. Love you. HUGS A. Deb
Please know I care, and am praying for you, Ava, and Tony. Ava will adjust because each of you were appointed to be her family. You were called to be her mother, Tony her dad,and Lainey her big sister. Oh my, what a lucky little girl! Karla
We have been married for 13 years and dreamed of having children since we said "I do". We have followed God's miraculous plan to adopt our daughter, Halainah Grace. She has filled our hearts with an enormous amount of love and laughter. Our family is on a new journey to find Halainah's mei mei in China. We devote our Sundays to God and are confident by God's grace that he will complete our family someday.
